Reliance Jio’s Republic Day Offer to give 500 MB more data on 1 GB and 1.5 GB packs

The offer will be applicable on recharge packs ranging from Rs 149 to Rs 498 and the 1 GB data pack will be raised to 1.5 GB. Subscribers will get 2 GB data instead of 1.5 GB per day in the offer.

Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio on Tuesday announced it will give extra 500 MB data to subscribers using 1 GB and 1.5 GB data packs per day as per a new offer. Naming the offer as ‘Republic Day Offer’, the company said it will be valid with effect from January 26.

As per the company sources, the validity of Rs 98 pack will also be doubled from 14 days to 28 days from January 26. Sources said, “Jio will always offer more value to its customers, and offer Rs. 50 lower price than competition and 50 per cent more data on its plans. As part of Republic Day offer, all existing 1 GB per day packs enhanced to 1.5 GB per day, 1.5 GB per day packs enhanced to 2 GB per day.”

The offer will be applicable on recharge packs ranging from Rs 149 to Rs 498 and the 1 GB data pack will be raised to 1.5 GB. Subscribers will get 2 GB data instead of 1.5 GB per day in the offer.

A company executive said, “With these changes, Jio reinforced its tariff supremacy and confirms its PRIME customers that they will always get the best tariffs in the industry.”

With this new offer, the company’s flagship Rs 399 plan will provide 1.5 GB unlimited 4G data with unlimited SMS and premium subscription to Jio Apps for 84 days.

The Rs 98 recharge pack currently offers 2.1 GB of 4G data with unlimited SMS and subscription to MyJio app pack for a validity of 28 days.

Commenting on this, Gopal Vittal, MD and CEO of Bharti Airtel, India and South Asia, said, “The battle among telecom operators is now for market share and the pressure on tariff will continue for some time even though it is at a unsustainable level at present.”
