Indian telecom sector has never been the same again since the inception of Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio. Now, there are three major companies which are facing neck-to-neck competition from each other that includes Vodafone-Idea, Reliance Jio and Airtel. Reliance Jio became the fastest growing telecom company in terms of number of subscribers.

Reliance Jio claims to be ‘celebrating 300 million users’ which makes it the second largest telecom company in India beating Bharti Airtel. However, Vodafone-Idea still remains the number one telecom operator in terms of subscriber.

As per a report by Times of India, Jio now has a customer base of 306 million while Airtel has just 284 million subscriber which is 8 per cent less than the Reliance Jio.

Airtel has also achieved the milestone of 300 million subscriber but in its 19th year.

As per a latest report by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the leading telecom operator Vodafone-Idea has lost almost 5.78 million subscribers in the beginning of 2019, reducing it to 409.3 million users by the end of February.
