Reliance is all geared up to launch the new version of its flagship smartphone ‘JioPhone 2’. Registrations for the handset will begin from August 15 and it is priced at Rs 2,999. Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced the successor of the smartphone which was launched in 2017, during the Annual General Meeting of RIL.
The prospective buyers of JioPhone 2 will have to register through MyJio App or by website. On the official website, user will have to click on ‘JioPhone 2 Registration and fill personal details including contact number, name, email id, pin code and address. Then, the user will be asked to choose from the ‘Monsoon Hungama’ option or without exchange option.
Reliance will charge extra Rs 99 as delivery charges, if the customer wants to get the handset delivered at doorstep. No charges are applicable if they can pick up from the nearby store.

The customers can make payment of Rs 2,999 through their debit or credit card and no cash on delivery option is available to them.
Under the ‘Monsoon Hungama’ option, customers can get their hands on the JioPhone 2 for just Rs 501 when they exchange their old JioPhone which was launched last year.
In terms of specifications, JioPhone 2 comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The smartphone has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA camera for clicking selfies. It is backed up by a 2000 mAh battery.
