Reliance Industries supremo Mukesh Ambani has unveiled the JioPhone at the company's 40th Annual General Meeting in Mumbai. Ambani refered Jio Phone as 'India ka Smartphone' that will bridge the digital divide and bring about digital freedom in India.
This is launched at an effective price of Rs 0, with one time refundable security of Rs 1,500 which will be refundable for 36 months.
This is a 4G Volte phone with a bar design and 2.4-inch QVGA display that is not touch senstive. Alongwith a dedicated button for torchlight, it will also come with a alphanumeric keypad, microphone, speaker and will support all Indian languages. It has an SOS feature as well, which can be activated by pressing 5.

Reliance Jiophone has the Qualcomm 205 SoC, this thing is not revealed by Jio at the time of launch, but Qualcom India announced this through offical Twitter page. The processor is dual clocked at 1.1 GHz. It supports FM Radio, HD video streaming, dual sim connectivity, and supports for 4G, 3G ans 2G networks.
This device will be available for pre booking from 24th August 2017.
