Reliance Jio owner Mukesh Ambani during the 41st AGM of the company made several announcement including JioGigaFiber, Jio GigaTV and JioPhone.
Currently, there are 25 million users of JioPhone and Reliance is looking to 100 million mark soon.
Now, Reliance has rolled out JioPhone 2 with QWERTY keypad along with a widescreen display. The company also mentioned that more than 500 million people are still using feature phones without any internet access.
On Friday, Reliance Jio is all set to come up with ‘JioPhone Monsoon Hungama’ which was earlier scheduled to go live on July 21. The sale of the JioPhone begins at 5:01 PM on July 20.

The exact time of 5:01 PM is indirectly connected with the price of the offer which is Rs 501 after exchanging with an old feature phone.
Last year, in the 40th AGM of the company, JioPhone was introduced at a handy price of Rs 1500 which was also refundable after three years, making it technically an ‘effectively free’ phone.
But, this ‘effectively free’ tag is not applicable on the newly launched phone and the customer will have to pay Rs 501 along withan old feature phone to purchase it.
The new JioPhone is powered by KaiOS and it comes with Google Assistant with support of voice commands. The phone also has Facebook, Youtube and WhatsApp on it which are also the three most used application in India.
