After a successful entry into country’s telecom sector, Reliance plans to sell as many as 20 crore units of Jio 4G VolTE feature phones over the next two years, a report claimed.
The huge task is not entirely unachievable as the LYF-branded JIO 4G VoLTE feature phone will feature smartphone like feature at the cost of just Rs 500.
According to a PTI report, Reliance Jio has initial plans to sell 1 crore units of the feature phone. However, the time period for the target was not known but the company has set a target of selling 10 crore units in the first year of the feature phone’s launch.
The phone will come with free calls on JIO network, yet another factor to woo the buyers. The reports also suggest that the Reliance will launch affordable recharge packs for customers to upgrade from 2G feature phones to its new 4G VoLTE handset.
Earlier, the features of the phone were leaked online and if the leaks are to be believed the phone will have a 2.4-inch colour display, 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage, up to 128GB microSD card support, dual SIM functionality, 2-megapixel rear camera, and VGA front camera.
