Watch | Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ launched in India at Rs 57,900, available from May 5

Korean smartphone giant Samsung has finally launched its brand new flagship smartphone Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in India. With an exclusive launch event in New Delhi, the world’s biggest smartphone maker has unveiled its latest phone in the Indian market.

Both the smartphones were globally launched last month with a mega launch event in New York. After the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, Galaxy S8’s launch is the biggest mobile launch in India. One USP of Galaxy S8 and S8+’s launch is India is that the company will introduce its very own processor- Exynos 8895 (2.35GHz Quad + 1.9GHz Quad).

The Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display while the other variant S8+ comes with a 6.2-inch display in the same screen quality as S8. The Galaxy S8 is powered by a 3,000mAh battery while the S8+ comes with a bigger 3,500mAh battery.

Both the flagship smartphones will feature curved displays with 18:9 aspect ratio, something which was introduced in LG’s latest flagship G6. Also, both the S8 smartphones will offer an almost be bezel-less design.
