Samsung launches Galaxy S series, Galaxy S9 starting at Rs 57,900, Galaxy S9 Plus starting at Rs 64,900, to go on sale from March 16

Both the smartphones, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, were launched at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 on February 26 in Barcelona, the pre-orders for which started some two weeks ago starting at a token amount of Rs 2000. Now, the company will launch both of these flagship smartphones for its customers in the Indian diaspora.

Electronics and technology giant Samsung launched its new flagship smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, in the Indian market on Tuesday.

Both the smartphones, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, were launched at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 on February 26 in Barcelona, the pre-orders for which started some two weeks ago starting at a token amount of Rs 2000. Now, the company has launched both of these flagship smartphones for its customers in the Indian diaspora.

The company set up live streaming of the launch event on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, apart from the official website of Samsung India in both English and Hindi languages.

The launch event started at 12:30 pm in Delhi.

The price of both the smartphones are expected to be Rs 47,000 for the Galaxy S9 and Rs 54,000 for the Galaxy S9 Plus. The US market price of the Galaxy S9 is USD 720, while the Galaxy S9 Plus is priced at USD 840 in the US market.

The Galaxy S9 comes with a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display screen, Exynos 9810 octa-core processor and 4 GB RAM on board, along with a 400 GB expandable memory. On the camera front, the phone comes with a 12-mp rear camera and an 8-mp front camera and runs on Android 8.0 with TouchWiz User Interface (UI).

The Galaxy S9 Plus comes with a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display, with 6 GB RAM and Exynos 9810 octa-core processor. The phone packs a battery of 3500 mAH. On the camera front, the rear dual front camera packs 12-mp + 12-mp lens, while the front camera packs 8-mp lens.
