Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, a new foldable phone, was recently launched at an event in San Francisco. The phone costs $1,380. The 6.7-inch Samsung’s new foldable phone folds into a square about half its size, with a small rectangular display on the front cover for notifications. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is available in three colours i.e. purple, black and gold. However, Samsung’s new foldable phone is currently available in purple and black colour. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is available for sale via select stores and online.
It is to be noted that Galaxy Z Flip is cheaper than its closest competitor i.e. Motorola Razr flip. The price for Motorola’s iconic phone has been set at $1,500.
Coming back to Samsung Galaxy Z Flip unpack event in San Francisco, the smartphone maker also unveiled a limited edition of the flip phone in partnership with New York fashion brand Thom Browne.
While unveiling the Galaxy Z Flip, Samsung's head of UK mobile marketing Rebecca Hirst said, "This is no ordinary smartphone. It changes everything." "This glass is built to last," Hirst added.
It is worth mentioning here that Galaxy Z Flip is Samsung's second folding smartphone. Samsung’s first folding smartphone i.e. Galaxy Fold folded vertically outward similar to butterfly wings. However, the Galaxy Z Flip has the clamshell design typical of more traditional flip phones. The smartphone maker has promised that its "ultra thin" folding glass display won't break easily.
