Tech giant Samsung, which launched its new flagship smartphones Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, will now launch the smartphones in India.
The South Korean consumer electronics giant launched the new Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9 Plus at the MWC 2018 and the pre-orders for the smartphones started earlier this week.
Now, the smartphones are all set to make their entry into the Indian market, and rumours say that both smartphones will be priced above Rs 60,000. This will be the fastest that the company will be launching a high-end Galaxy phone in the Indian market after its global launch.
Both the flagship smartphones offer high-end camera quality and augmented reality (AI) features to take on several other smartphones in the market.
Specifications of Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9 Plus
The main highlight of both the flagships are that they come with an extremely improved high-end camera lens with dual aperture setup on the primary rear sensor which is capable of shooting at even low-light.
Another feature of the phone related to the camera is the new super slow-mo camera. The phones are capable of recording 960 frames per second, and also can be exported as a GIF or be used as an animated wallpaper of your phone.
The company also introduced the AR Emoji with the launch of the new Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus. The AR Emoji makes virtual avatar of sorts that lets a user click a 3D picture and turn into a customised emoji. The AR Emoji offers 18 different emojis/expressions that can be used via the Galaxy Keyboard app.
Talking about its camera, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ has dual-lens camera setup of 12-megapixel telephoto and 12-megapixel wide-angle lens with an aperture of f/2.4 and f/1.5 respectively, and an 8-megapixel camera in the front for selfies with an aperture of f/1.7
Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ runs on Android Oreo 8.0 operating system and is powered by latest Samsung Knox Security Solutions.
Both the handsets are water and dust resistant and will be available in Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple.
Galaxy S9 is powered by a 3,000mAh battery and Galaxy S9+ comes with 3,500mAh battery.
On the security front, both the smartphones offer facial recognition along with a Iris scanner. It also has a fingerprint scanner at the back just below the camera lenses. The memory of the handset can be expanded upto 400GB.
