Samsung, one of the top manufacturers of consumers Television across the world, has come up with a new TV that can be used in both vertical and horizontal mode. Yes, you heard it right. The TV can be flipped around 90 degrees, letting you watch Instagram and other smartphone videos in their native vertical configurations. And the name is Samsung Sero.
It is to be noted that Sero means ‘vertical' in Korean. In South Korea, Samsung Sero will be sold at a price of KRW 18,900,000 (approximately Rs 11.3 lakhs).
The TV will go on sale at the end of May in South Korea. However, there is no official confirmation from the South Korean electronics giant that when the TV will make its way to other markets.

Samsung Sero is a 43-inch TV that comes with its own stand, and can be rotated to be used in either portrait (vertical) or landscape (horizontal) mode. It also has a 4.1-channel speaker system with a 60W sound output and an integrated far-field microphone for access to Samsung’s Bixby smart assistant. Samsung did not list other specifications, but it likely has 4K Ultra HD resolution.
Samsung Sero can be synced with a phone via NFC and then simply mirrors the phone’s display. In addition to video viewing, Samsung also pitched the TV as a solution for big-screen mobile gaming, browsing photos from social networks or visiting shopping sites together with multiple people.
Samsung also announced that its Serif and Frame TVs will be available in larger 49- and 55-inch sizes later this year, with a 65-inch Frame TV coming soon as well. All three new TVs will initially only be available in South Korea. Importantly, the previous version of The Frame is available in India, and is designed to function as an artwork or picture frame when not used as a TV.
