Popular dating application Tinder has surpassed video steaming application Netflix in terms of highest revenue earning app in the first quarter of 2019.

As per a report by an app intelligence firm Sensor Tower, Tinder grossed more than 260 million USD from both Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store while Netflix’s revenues slipped to 216.3 million USD in the same period.

Netflix revenues witness dropped in revenues which is the result of its refusal to pay the ‘Apple Tax’ out of its revenues from the subscription on iOS.

Tinder, on the other hand, has witness massive growth across the world including India. As per some reports, there are more than 3 million subscribers of Tinder Gold globally.

Apart from Netflix and Tinder, there are other top earning apps as well which includes Tencent Video, iQIYI, YouTube, Pandora, Kwai, LINE, LINE Manga, and Youku.

Talking about the free applications, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Facebook, TikTok and Instagram are the top most downloaded free apps.

However, TikTok has becomes the fastest growing free apps on the smartphones. The application added 188 million users in the first quarte of 2019.

The sensor Tower said, "This marked a year-over-year increase of 70 percent from Q1 2018, when 110 million users installed the hit app for the first time’’.

These 188 million users addition includes 88.6 million of Indian subscribers. TikTok has been downloaded for over 1.1 billion times on Google Play Store and Apple App Store worldwide.
