Budget smartphones have become more exciting these days, thanks to the cut-throat competition between brands like Xiaomi, Realme, and Samsung. News Nation brings you the best phones under Rs 10,00 budget that can be purchased this month.

Redmi Note 8

Redmi 8 sports a 6.22-inch HD+ Dot Notch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone supports dual-SIM (Nano) technology and runs Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM.

On the imaging front, Redmi 8 comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup that houses a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, there is an 8-megapixel camera sensor at the front. The dual rear camera setup is preloaded AI Portrait and AI Scene Detection features. The phone is also touted to recognise 33 scene categories, including six India-specific categories. Also, there is artificial intelligence (AI) powered features, including Face Unlock. Further, the phone has a fingerprint sensor at the back.

Redmi 8 has 64GB of onboard storage which is expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB) with a dedicated slot. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, infrared, wireless FM radio, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.

The entry-level smartphone comes with a new Aura Mirror Design at the back. Redmi 8 packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.  Redmi 8 is available in Oynx Black, Ruby Red, and Sapphire Blue colour options. It also has a splash-resistant P2i coating on top.

The price for Redmi 8 in India has been set at Rs 7,999 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant. On the other hand, the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of Redmi 8 costs Rs 8,999. However, for the first five million units, the device with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is available with an introductory price of Rs 7,999.

Realme 5

Realme 5 features a 6.5-inch HD+ (720x1600 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ for protection. The smartphone, which has dual-SIM (Nano), runs Color OS 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, paired with up to 4GB of RAM. 

On the imagining front, Realme 5 sports a quad rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel sensor, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel portrait lens. There is electronic image stabilisation (EIS) tech included as well. On the front, Realme 5 houses a 13-megapixel selfie camera. 

Connectivity options on Realme 5 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, a GPS/ A-GPS, a3.5mm headphone jack and a Micro-USB port. Sensors onboard include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, a magnetometer, and a proximity sensor. Realme 5 comes in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB inbuilt storage options, expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB). Realme 5 packs a 5,000mAh.

The device has dimensions of 164.4x75.6x9.3mm and it weighs 198 grams. Also, there is a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel. The 3GB of RAM and 32GB variant of Realme 5 costs Rs 9,999. On the other hand, the 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB variants are priced at Rs 10,999 and Rs 11,999, respectively. The smartphone is available in Crystal Blue and Crystal Purple colour options.

Samsung Galaxy A10s

Samsung Galaxy A10s features a 6.2-inch HD+ (720x1520 pixels) Infinity-V Display along with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The dual-SIM (Nano) Samsung Galaxy A10s runs Android 9 Pie with One UI on top. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core SoC, paired with 2GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy A10s comes with 32GB of onboard storage which is expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB) with a dedicated slot. The device measures 156.9x75.8x7.8mm. It packs a 4,000mAh and comes equipped with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS/ A-GPS.

Realme 3i

Realme 3i is equipped with a 6.2-inch HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio. It also features Gorilla Glass 5 protection and have an in-display fingerprint sensor for authentication.  

The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 2.0GHz octa-core processor. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie, which is based on ColorOS 6.0. The phone measures 156.1 x 75.6 x 8.3 mm and the weight is 175 grams.

Both the variants can be expanded to 256GB via micro sd card. On the optics front, the device houses a dual-camera setup with a combination of 13-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, there is a 13-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12-micron pixels.

Realme 3i packs a 4230mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the device supports Bluetooth 4.2, 4G LTE, GPS, Wifi, GLONASS, micro USB port and 3.5mm audio jack. The base variant is priced at Rs 7,999 while the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant costs Rs 9,999. The Realme 3i comes with three colour options i.e. Black, Blue and Red.

Infinix S5

Infinix S5 features a 6.6-inch HD+ (720x1600 pixels) display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 480 nits peak brightness, and a 90.5 percent screen-to-body ratio.

The newly-launched entry-level smartphone supports dual-SIM (Nano) technology and runs XOS 5.5 Cheetah based on Android 9.0 Pie. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM.

Infinix S5 comes equipped with a quad rear camera setup that houses a 16-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2-megapixel Super Macro lens capable of shooting at the proximity of 2.5cm, a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens with a 114-degree field of view, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There is a 32-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture on the front.

Infinix S5 has 64GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB) with its own dedicated slot. The device packs a 4,000mAh battery. It also has a rear fingerprint scanner. Infinix S5 will be made available in Quetzal Crystal and Violet colour options. The price for the lone 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage variant of Infinix S5 in India has been set at Rs 8,999.

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 features a 5.99-inch full-HD+ (1080x2160 pixels) IPS Full View display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The dual-SIM (Nano) Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, paired with Adreno 509 GPU and up to 6GB RAM.  The device also has up to 64GB of onboard storage that is expandable via microSD card.

On the imagining front, the smartphone comes equipped with dual rear camera setup. The 3GB and 4GB RAM versions of the smartphone carry a 13-megapixel primary camera with an f/2.2 lens and a 5-megapixel depth-sensing secondary image sensor, while the 6GB RAM variant comes with 16-megapixel primary shooter in place of the 13-megapixel shooter. On the front, it houses a 16-megapixel shooter for selfies.
