Telecom company Vodafone has partnered with Transsion Holdings-owned Itel to launch an entry-level 4G smartphone, called the A20, which comes at an effective price of Rs 1,590.
The new A20 competes with other budget smartphones like the JioPhone and Airtel Intex Aqua Lions N1 among others. The A20 is priced at Rs 3,690 but Vodafone will offer a cashback of Rs 2,100 to the customers that brings down the phone to Rs 1,590.
The customers who want to buy the Itel A20 will need to make monthly recharges of Rs 150 for a period of 36 months (3 years). The reports say that the recharge can be either done as a one-time recharge or all at once.
After the first 18 months, the customers will receive Rs 900 cashback in their M-Pesa wallets and Rs 1200 after the additional 18 months. The bundled offer is available upto March 31, 2018.
Gaurav Tikoo, Senior VP, Marketing, Trassion India, said, “At Itel, we are committed to making the 4G smartphone experience accessible to the masses as well as to boost the value proposition offered by all our products. Not only are we enhancing our 4G portfolio to achieve this aim, but are also entering into major strategic tie-ups to deliver greater value in our offerings. Our partnership with Vodafone reiterates this commitment. Its superior network coverage will perfectly complement the feature-intensive A20. We are confident that the partnership will drive 4G adoption across the country by maximizing the overall value for both Itel and Vodafone customers.”
