Days after its initial rollout, instant messaging platform WhatsApp has launched its business partner WhatsApp Business in India on Wednesday.
The standalone app offers a simple tool for small business users to let them communicate with their clients and audiences in an easy and efficient way. WhatsApp announced the standalone WhatsApp Business back in September 2017 and launched a pilot while partnering with BookMyShow, Netflix and MakeMyTrip.
The app was first tested in India before its official public release. The standalone WhatsApp Business will be available for download via Google Play in the country. Compatible with Android 4.0.3 and above for now, the app is expected to come soon for iOS devices too.
The app allows smaller companies to connect with their clients and customers and be a part of the messaging platform which has over 1.3 billion users worldwide. The business-centric app allows companies to create their own profiles with information about their business such as website, email, store address etc.

It also provides smart messaging tools to let businesses use quick replies and give fast answers to frequently asked questions. The app also has options to send greeting messages to new customers and set away messages when companies are busy. Further options like WhatsApp web support are also given on the standalone app.
Features like setting privacy for profile photo, information, status and blocking contacts or enable read receipts are set similar to those like on WhatsApp. The app also has a live location feature which helps the companies to share their location on live basis.
End-to-end encryption is also offered on the business app along with embed video and voice calls.
