In order to make business communication with customers more effective and streamlined, Facebook owned popular instant messaging platform WhatsApp has launched its business only platform for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
Announced back in September 2017, the business version was tested for ventures like BookMyShow and MakeMyTrip in India.
As of now the exclusive app for SMEs is available at Google Play Store.
Exclusive SMEs app is available in Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, the UK, and the US.
WhatsApp for SMEs will soon hit the Play Store for the rest of the world in the coming weeks and it will be free.
This exclusive app will have features like quick replies to provide fast answers to frequently asked questions, greeting messages and away messages to let them know that you are busy.
"People will know that they're talking to a business because you will be listed as a Business Account. Over time, some businesses will have Confirmed Accounts once it's been confirmed that the account phone number matches the business phone number," WhatsApp said in a statement.
Regular users can continue using WhatsApp as usual as there's no need to download anything new. "People will continue to have full control over the messages they receive, with the ability to block any number, including businesses, as well as report spam," the company added.
