On the occasion of New Year’s Eve, millions of WhatsApp users faced service outage across Europe, Asia and South America. Several users turn to social media to vent their frustrations as they were not able to send/receive messages.
This outage affected in India as well where the company has largest market with over 200 million users
The official spokesperson of WhatsApp confirmed the news and said, “WhatsApp users around the world experienced a brief outage today that has now been resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience’’.
However, the real reason behind the issue is still unknown but it is speculated that due to sudden rise in sending/receiving picture or videos messages across the globe.
Keeping the issue aside, the Facebook-owned messenger service saw a huge growth in the number of the users across the world. It also included several new features.
One of the newest feature n board is the user has the right to delete an unwanted message from the chat.
Meanwhile, the issue has been resolved in many parts, but there are some parts where the issue is still persisting.
