Chinese mobile manufacturer Xiaomi has finally launched its first smartphone in Play series, Mi Play in mainland China. It will be the first handset from Xiaomi to offer a waterdrop-style display notch at the top. In order to attract more customers, the company will be offering 10GB of free data for 12 months. Xiaomi offline store will begin the sale of the newly launched smartphone from December 25, 10 am.
On specification front, Xiaomi Mi Play will sport a 5.84-inch FHD display with a resolution of 1080x2280 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 SoC processor along with IMG GE8320 GPU and 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM.
The handset will be available in three color options including Black, Dream Blue, and Twilight Gold and will also feature a gradient finish. Xiaomi Mi Play will run on Android 8.2 Oreo based MIUI 10.
Talking about its camera, Xiaomi Mi Play will sport a dual camera setup at the back with 12 MP lens of f/2.2 aperture and 2 MP secondary lens. These two-camera lens will also be backed by a Led flash. For selfies, it has a 8 MP camera placed in between the waterdrop notch.
The Xiaomi Mi Play will feature inbuilt storage of 64GB on board which can be expandable up to 256GB via MicroSD card.
Other connectivity on Xiaomi Mi Play includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C and have supports important sensors including accelerometer, ambient light, geomagnetic, and gyroscope.
It will be backed by 3000 mAh battery. The price of the newly launched handset is still unknown and its launch in Indian market is also not yet finalised.
