Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G Goes Official: Specs, Features, Prices Inside

Xiaomi's second 5G smartphone i.e. Mi 9 Pro 5G has gone official in China. The key features on Mi 9 Pro 5G include Snapdragon 855+ SoC, triple rear camera setup, 40W fast charging and MIUI 11, among others. Mi 9 Pro will go on sale in China first. However, the India availability of Mi 9 Pro is yet to be known. 

Mi 9 Pro 5G: Specifications 

Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G sports a 6.39-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) AMOLED display with a waterdrop-style notch and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone supports a dual-SIM (Nano) technology. However, it is unclear that whether the smartphone will be preloaded with MIUI 10 or a beta version of MIUI 11. 

Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM. It also gets vapour chamber (VC) cooling. 

In a statement, Xiaomi said, “Mi 9 Pro 5G also sports the industry's most efficient vapour chamber (VC), along with five layers of graphite sheet, high thermal conductivity copper foil and thermal adhesive, together forming a powerful three-dimensional cooling system.” 

“The L-shaped VC has a heat dissipation area up to 1,127mm2, which accommodates faster and more efficient heat transfer compared to graphite and copper tubes. As a result, the processor's core temperature can be reduced by 10.2-degrees Celsius,” it added. 

On the imaging front, the Mi 9 Pro 5G comes equipped with triple rear camera setup that houses a a 48-megapixel f/1.75 main shooter, 12-megapixel f/2.2 telephoto camera, and 16-megapixel f/2.2 wide-angle camera. There is a 20-megapixel f/2.0 selfie shooter on the front. 

The Mi 9 Pro packs a 4,000mAh battery with support for 40W fast charging and 30W wireless charging technology. Among other specifications, the smartphone comes equipped with NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0 etc. 

Mi 9 Pro 5G: Price 

The price for 8GB + 128GB model of Mi 9 Pro 5G has been set at CNY 3,699 yuan (approx. Rs 37,000). The 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB variants of phone costs CNY 3,799 yuan (approx. Rs 38,000), CNY 4,099 yuan (approx. Rs 41,100), and CNY 4,299 yuan (approx. Rs 43,100), respectively.
