Xiaomi has launched the successor to the smartphone Redmi 4A in its home market. According to Xiaomi, the new Redmi 5A is ‘much lighter than the metal’.
The main feature of this new smartphone which is attracting many is its battery life which company claims to be as long as eight days.
The handset will be available for pre-orders starting today in China at CNY 599, which is roughly Rs 6,000. The smartphone will be available for sale on the company’s official website and also on various e-commerce websites.
Talking about its specifications, Redmi 5A will have a 5-inch display with 1280x720 pixels resolution with a pixel density of 296 ppi. The smartphone will come with a 2GB of RAM and 16GB ROM powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdraon 425 SoC processor.
Redmi 5A supports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, burst mode, panorama mode and HDR mode whereas the front camera comes with 5-megapixel lens with f/2.0 aperture.
The smartphone will run MIUI9 out-of-the-box which includes smart assistant, smart app launcher, image search, Quick reply, notification management, new Home Screen enhancements, Lock screen enhancements and split screen multitasking.
Redmi 5A has no fingerprint scanner in the new phone but in terms of design will have more rounded corners.
