Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has launched its first Android Go Edition device, the Xiaomi Redmi Go in India. Redmi Go will be available at a starting price of Rs 4,499. The Xiaomi Redmi Go can be bought from e-commerce website Flipkart, as well as Xiaomi's own official website Mi.com and Mi Home stores. The launch event was held in the national capital and was live streamed on company’s official website Mi.com. The Redmi Go was first unveiled in January before being made available in the Philippines in February.

The Xiaomi Redmi Go price in India has been set at Rs 4,499. The smartphone will be available from March 22, 12 pm, via Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores. Reliance Jio is offering Rs 2,200 Jio cashback and up to 100GB free on the smartphone.

Xiaomi Redmi Go is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, coupled with 1GB of RAM and the Adreno 308 GPU. The device is available in a single variant with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 128GB via microSD card. The Redmi Go measures 140.4x70.1x8.35mm and weighs 137 grams.
In terms of optics, Redmi Go comes up with 8-megapixel rear camera with 1.12-micron pixels, an f/2.0 aperture, and a single LED flash module. There is also a 5MP front camera for selfies.
The smartphone is available in two colour variants - Black and Blue. Redmi Go runs Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) and sports a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display. It also comes with dual mic noise reduction for better call quality.
Redmi Go packs a 3,000mAh battery. It supports dual-SIM with dedicated microSD card tray which means users can use two SIMs as well as expandable storage card as well.
