Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi on Tuesday announced a price cut on Redmi Note 5 Pro in India. The company took to Twitter to share the news and announced that Xiaomi has decided to drop prices by Rs 4,000. The tweet reads “Mi fans! Here's the special announcement: #RedmiNote5Pro gets whopping up to Rs 4000 off, an offer you surely can't refuse! RT & give me #High5 if you've been waiting for this sweet deal! ?? 3 more to go!’’. Earlier, Redmi Note 5 Pro 4GB RAM variant was available for Rs 13,999 and now it is available at Rs 12,999. The 6GB RAM variant will also see a price cut of Rs 2,000 and is now available at Rs 13,999.

Redmi Note 5 Pro was launched in February last year in two variants, 4GB RAM for Rs 13,999 and 6GB RAM for Rs 16,999. However, Xiaomi increased the price of Redmi Note 5 Pro 4GB version in May last year citing change in PCBA import taxes and rupee depreciation.

On specs front, Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a 5.99-inch FHD display with a resolution of 1080x2160 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 636 SoC, paired with up to 4GB or 6GB of RAM.

Talking about its camera, Redmi Note 5 Pro dual camera setup at the back with 12 MP + 5 MP lens. For selfies, it boasts a 20 MP selfie shooter with a Sony IMX376 sensor along with a LED flash . It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with latest MIUI 9 interface.

Remi Note 5 Pro has an inbuilt storage of 64 GB which is expandable up to 128 GB via MicroSD. Other connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Micro-USB. The handset also supports fast charging and is backed by a 4000mAh battery.

It is also reported that the company has already sold more than 1 crore handsets in the Indian market.
