Bharat Bandh: Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, among others take part in protest

Parties like the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S), Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), DMK, Trinamool Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS) have extended their support to the shutdown. NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Sharad Yadav took part in the bandh protest. Sonia Gandhi and former prime minister Manmohan Singh also joined Congress-led opposition parties supported Bharat Bandh protest against fuel price hike.
