CM Yogi Adityanath reintroduces UPCOCA bill in UP Assembly

Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday reintroduced the Uttar Pradesh Control of Organised Crime Act (UPCOCA) 2017 bill in UP Assembly to combat land mafia, mining mafia and organised crime across the state. Last year, on December 21, the bill was passed by the Legislative Assembly and further sent to the upper house (Council) where it was turned down on March 13. The entire opposition including Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Congress termed the act 'draconian' and staged a massive protest against the same.
