Forest fires reaches residential areas in Uttarakhand, continues to spread on 11th day

On Wednesday, at least 295 new incidents of forest fires were reported from different parts of the state. The total number of forest-fire incidents in the past two days stands at 1,036. Garhwal region is the worst-hit with the extent of damage being the largest in Pauri district, Chief Conservator of Forest and nodal officer for forest fires BP Gupta told news agency PTI.
