Model Code of Conduct to come into effect at 5 pm today

With the announcement of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 and several state Assembly polls, a Model Code of Conduct will come into effect from 5 pm on Sunday. The idea behind the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct is to bring the political advertising, campaigning and general conduct of political parties and their candidates under the scanner of the Election Commission of India.
