On Wednesday, the final day of oral submissions in London for Vijay Mallya’s deportation to India, took a dramatic twist after the one-time liquor baron claimed that he had met Finance minister Arun Jaitley in Parliament right before he left the country in 2016. Jaitley, however, rubbished Mallya’s claimed that the fugitive businessman met him before leaving India two years ago. "He misused that privilege on one occasion while I was walking out of the House to go to my room. He paced up to catch up with me and while walking uttered a sentence that 'I am making an offer of settlement', Jaitley said.
