Panipat-The gateway to Delhi throne

The small city of Panipat in Haryana has witnessed three fierce battles. It has seen three battles first in 1526, between Mughal Babur and the Delhi Sultan Ibrahim Lodi. Second, in 1556 between Mughal Akbar and Hemu and third between Durrani Empire of Afghanistan and the Maratha Empire in 1761.
