People thronged California beach when a large grey whale washed up on Tuesday. The massive carcass of the whale lured many gawkers on the beach to take selfies and kneel down to examine its parts amid overpowering stench of the decomposing carcass. The adult whale was about 40 feet long and weighed up to 60000 pounds.

The whale was stretched partly in the water and its enormous tongue was so swollen that it came out of its mouth looking all black. The authorities are yet to decide whether to tow it away or cut into pieces and then load on trucks. The whale likely died of natural causes and was discovered on Sunday.
