A school is a temple of learning, this is what we all have been taught but what happens when it becomes a dance bar and classroom which are used to teach become liquor shops?
This is what happened in a Tetaria village of Uttar Pradesh Mirzapur where a government school was used to organise a birthday bash of village head’s son, complete with alcohol and dancing girls.
A video of obscene dance inside a classroom of the primary school in Tetaria village in Jamalpur block on Raksha Bandhan on August 7 went viral on social media prompting officials to order a probe.
“A probe has been ordered in the matter and its report will be given to the district magistrate for further action,” Basic Sikshan Adhikari (BSA) Pravin Kumar Tiwari said.
The school was closed for Rakshabandhan holiday and when it was reopened next day, teachers and students found complete mess with liquor bottles all over there in the classrooms.
Giving details about the incident, the official said, “The keys of the school were taken by the village head on August 5 from the principal. As a number of tasks are done in the school through the village head, he was given the keys. The village head organised a party to celebrate his son’s birthday in the school.”
“Holding of such events in school premises are not allowed and in this case too no permission was sought,” Tiwari added.
