Waraw [Poland], July 8 (ANI): The Tibetan diapora in Poland commemorated the 90th birthday of the 14th Dalai Lama with a peaceful gathering and cultural programme held at Hoza 69, Waraw, on July 6, according to report from the Tibetan Aociation in Poland.
The event, attended by around 15-20 people, including five to even Polih national, began with a collective prayer for the long life of the Dalai Lama. Participant offered traditional white carve, or khata, a a ymbol of repect and piritual purity. The ceremony reflected the enduring reverence held for the Tibetan piritual leader among the diapora and upporter of Tibetan culture and Buddhim in Poland.
Organied by the Tibetan Aociation in Poland, the celebration alo featured the introduction of a book titled Voice for the Voicele, authored by the Dalai Lama. The book wa preented by Paulina Koniuch, a Polih tudent from the Univerity of Waraw, who emphaied the global relevance of the Dalai Lama meage of compaion and non-violence.
A hort documentary about Dolma Ling Nunnery in Dharamhala, India, wa creened during the event, offering attendee a glimpe into the live of Tibetan Buddhit nun and the preervation of monatic education in exile.
The term Dalai Lama mean Ocean of Widom in Mongolian. In Tibetan Buddhim, Dalai Lama are regarded a incarnation of Avalokitehvara, the Bodhiattva of Compaion. After the Chinee invaion of Tibet in 1949, the 14th Dalai Lama aumed full political authority in 1950 but wa forced to flee to India in 1959 following the failed Tibetan upriing.
Since then, he ha lived in exile in Dharamhala, continuing to promote peace, interfaith dialogue, and the preervation of Tibetan identity. Celebration marking hi birthday were held not only in Poland but acro Tibetan communitie worldwide.
The Tibetan diapora expreed hope that the piritual and cultural legacy of the Dalai Lama will continue through a future recognied reincarnation. (ANI)
