As many as 24 people were killed, several other injured after a bus fell into a ravine in an incident of bridge collapse in northwest Pakistan on Friday late night.

At Least 24 Killed As Bus Falls In Ditch In Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

As many as 24 people were killed, several others injured after a bus fell into a ravine in an incident of bridge collapse in northwest Pakistan on Friday late night. According to the report of ARY News, the incident took place in Bagra area of Kundiya tehsil in Upper Kohistan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 

Deputy Commissioner of Kohistan Raja Abdul Saboor said that 31 people were on board in the vehicle which met the accident. The commissioner further confirmed that eight dead bodies of the unlucky passengers were recovered so far from the mountainous area. 
He said that police and rescue officials were facing difficulties in conducting the relief operation due to darkness and unavailability of resources.  

Earlier on August 14, at least 17 were killed in road accidents in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Four people, including a woman, were killed and two others sustained critical injuries when a jeep plunged into a deep ravine in Pattan area of Lower Kohistan. On the other hand, four tourists from Bajaur tribal district were killed when a car plunged into a deep ravine in Kawai area of Kaghan valley. Meanwhile, in Buner, four women and two children of a family were killed and four others suffered injuries when a car they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a deep ravine on Karakar Pass.  

Back on August 12, five people had lost their lives and eight others got wounded after the passenger van they were travelling in fell into a ravine in the Upper Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to police, the van was going to Barawal area from Teemargara area in Lower Dir.  

The driver lost control of the vehicle, due to which it veered off the course and plunged into the ravine. The injured were shifted to Dir Hospital where three of them were stated to be in precarious condition.
