7 suspected members of JMB arrested in B'desh over robbery

Seven operatives of Bangladesh's outlawed JMB were arrested in Dhaka over charges of robbery,police said on Tuesday, amid a security clamp down following the country's worst terror attack at a cafe.

"Our Counter Terrorism Unit arrested them last night fromTejgaon area with huge golden ornaments they are believedto be members of JMB (Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh) andcurrently involved in robbery to run their activities," apolice spokesman told PTI.

The special police unit also seized from them fourpistols, a laptop, several lakhs of taka and valuables whichthey were believed to have looted earlier, he added. The development came amid an anti-militancy securityclampdown since the July 1 terrorist attack on a Dhaka cafewhen 22 people, including 17 foreigners, were killed.
