Twin explosions occurred near the Afghan parliament in Kabul on Tuesday, the interior ministry said. According to recent reports, at least 21 persons have been killed and around 45 have been wounded in the attack. A woman MP is reportedly among those injured.

One of the blasts was apparently caused by a car bomb, ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqqi said. "They targeted employees of parliament, there have been casualties," a second security source said.

Kabul, Afghanistan's capital has witnessed various bomb blasts and increased violence in the recent past.
