Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told a Tel Aviv University cyber conference on Monday that Israel experiences dozens of cyber attacks every month. He further said that cyber vulnerability has increased and the need for cyber security is growing at a rapid pace.

Netanyahu explained that in order to address the threat, he created the National Cyber Authority to provide a more comprehensive and coordinated national cyber defense.

He also said that Israel must work with various other countries as it can in combating cyber attacks.

The Prime Minister said that there was a time when it was detrimental to be an Israeli company, but it has turned in to an advantage in the cyber era.

Moreover, he claimed that the prominent role that Israeli companies play in cybertech has made them very attractive for investment, with 20% of global cyber investment going towards them.

Further describing Israeli success in the cyber sector, he said: “There used to be a thing called the Arab boycott. That has dissipated.”

He suggested that Israeli hi-tech and cyber expertise were breaking negative molds of how some countries treat Israel.
