The verbal spat between boom-boom cricketer Shahid Afridi and Pakistan legend Javed Miandad reached to the corridors of underworld with Dawood Ibrahim reportedly making a phone call threatening Afridi to shut his mouth or face dire consequences. According to media reports, underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, who is also a relative of former captain Javed Miandad, made a personal call to Afridi on October 12 between 8-9pm.
The spat started after Miandad made a comment on Afridi's farewell match. The former captain said, "Afridi wants a farewell match only for money".
Afridi who is very active on twitter responded, saying, "Javed Miandad has been thinking about money all his life and he still is. A cricketer of his stature should not do such cheap talks." He also warned Miandad to take legal action against him for his comments.
The threat phone call from Dawood followed after Afridi talked about the possibility of legal action.
The verbal altercation escalated further when an infuriated Miandad called Afridi "son of thieves" on Pakistani news channel.Miandad has even claimed that he had evidence of Afridi involving in match-fixing.
