US President Donald Trump on Friday accepted the proposal to deliver the State of the Union address on February 4, 2020. This came after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wrote letter to Trump inviting him to deliver the speech ‘in the spirit of respecting Constitution’. In a press statement on Friday, the White House confirmed Trump’s State of the Union address to take place on February 4.
“In the spirit of respecting our Constitution, I invite you to deliver your State of the Union address before a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in the Chamber of the U.S. House of Representatives”, wrote Nancy Pelosi.
Earlier in 2019, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had asked Donald Trump to either postpone the address or deliver it in writing.
On the other hand, Trump denied permission for the usage of a military vehicle for an overseas trip.

The US Congress moved one step closer to impeaching Donald Trump after the House judiciary committee voted on Friday to move two articles of impeachment against Donald Trump to the House of Representatives.
Democrats, who are in majority in the House of Representatives, accuse Trump of abusing his power for his own political benefit and at the expense of US national security.
A Senate trial to decide whether to remove Trump from office would follow early next year, with the expectation that the Republican majority in the Senate would acquit Trump.
