Earthquake jolts Nepal, tremors felt in Kathmandu

An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale hit Dhading district of Nepal on Wednesday, officials said.

The epicentre of the quake was at Dhading district, 80 km west of Kathmandu, according to the National Seismological Centre (NSC). 

The earthquake was recorded at 9:52 am.

The tremors were also felt at Kathmandu, the officials said, adding, there has been no report of any damage so far.

On Tuesday, a mild tremor measuring 3.8 on the Richter Scale was recorded in the same district.

The tremor was the aftershock of the April 25 Great Quake, NSC chief Lok Bijaya Adhikari said.
