An unidentified gunman in California on Thursday killed five people, including his wife, before turning the gun on himself as a sheriff's deputy closed in to confront.
According to Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood, the shootings began shortly before 5:30 pm on Wednesday and occurred at a business and a home in Bakersfield, about 90 miles north of Los Angeles.
There is no immediate word on other casualties into the incident so far.
