Democrat front-runner Hillary Clinton leads her Republican rival Donald Trump by just two per cent in a latest national presidential poll, indicating that the race to the White House is headed for a tight finish.
The 68-year-old former secretary of state has support of 47 per cent of the potential presidential voters.
On the other hand 69-year-old Trump gets 45 per cent, according to SurveyMonkey Election Tracking poll results released today. In the same poll, last week Clinton had a nine-point advantage.
According to RealClearPolitics, which keeps tracks of all major national polls, Clinton is leading Trump by just 1.5 percentage points.
