New Delhi:

After Pakistan’s photo goof up at UN, India on Monday rebutted Islamabad’s false narrative on Kashmir by waving a photo of martyred Kashmiri Army officer Lieutenant Umar Faiyaz.

A young diplomat with India's permanent mission to the UN, Paulomi Tripathi waved two photos together at UN, one showing Kashmiri Army officer and another showing Pakistani diplomat Maleeha Lodhi brandishing a photo of a Palestinian woman as a Kashmiri girl hit by pellet guns.

Holding up both pictures together, Tripathi said, “True face of Pakistan is not hidden from anyone”.

Lieutenant Umar Faiyaz, whose picture was shown in the UN by Indian diplomat was abducted and killed by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian.

"This is a real and not a fake picture of Lt. Umar Faiyaz, a young officer from the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir. Umar Faiyaz was kidnapped at a wedding celebration. He was brutally tortured and killed by Pakistan supported terrorists in May 2017,'' said Tripathi.

"This is a true picture. It portrays a harsh and tragic reality. A picture of terrorism emanating from across our borders that the people of India, especially in the state of Jammu and Kashmir have to struggle with, every day. This is the reality which the Permanent Representative of Pakistan sought to obfuscate,'' she added.

Earlier on Saturday, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj bombarded Pakistan with her piercing eloquence terming the country a “pre-eminent export factory for terror”.

In response to Swaraj’s historic speech, Pakistan termed India the “mother of terrorism” and flashed a photo of a Palestinian woman and claimed that she was Kashmiri girl hit by pellet guns.
