US ambassador to India Richard Verma said on Wednesday that whatever be the election results, India-America ties will only grow and prosper in the years to come.
Verma's comment came hours after Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump defeated his Democrat rival Hillary Clinton in the race to the White House.
Addressing the media in Delhi, Verma also said, "We are passing on the torch to the next administration in a very good shape." Ties are on steep ascendancy and relation with India is a non-partisan subject in the US, he added.
"Part of the job of the next President is to bring the country together," Verma said.
