Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his close aides have been placed under precautionary COVID-19 quarantine. According to Netanyahu's office, the step was a precaution and is being taken even before the epidemiological investigation has been concluded.
This comes hours after one of Netanyahu’s close aide tested positive for coronavirus. It is to be noted that Rivka Paluch, an adviser to Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on ultra-Orthodox affairs, tested positive with the coronavirus. According to The Times Of Israel report, Rivka’s husband was hospitalised despite showing no symptoms of the sickness.
In Israel, so far 4,347 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported. However, 134 people have been recovered from the COVID-19 virus. 16 have died so far and 95 are in serious condition. Whereas, one Israeli tourist died in Italy. Israel is under total lockdown and people have been advised to go out only to stock up food.
On March 15 Netanyahu and his close aides underwent testing for COVID-19 on the instruction of the Prime Minister’s Office deputy director general for security and emergencies. None were found to be infected with the virus.
It is worth mentioning here that the novel coronavirus, which originated in China, has claimed over 34,000 lives across the world. With no known cure so far for the coronavirus, the deadly disease has become a major issue for the entire world.

Talking specifically about India, the death count has reached 30 due to the outbreak of novel coronavirus in the country. According to the latest update, a total of 1,071 cases of coronavirus has been reported in India.
