The US Vice President Joe Biden says that he would run for the post of president in 2020.
“I am going to run in 2020,” Biden, 74, told at the Capitol Hill on Monday.
If elected, he would be the oldest ever US president at 78.
“What the hell man, anyway,” the outgoing Vice President said.
Asked by reporters if he was kidding by making such a statement, he, after a brief pause, said he is not ruling out anything.
“I’m not committing not to run. I’m not committing to anything. I learned a long time ago, fate has a strange way of intervening,” said Biden, who in 2015 announced that he would not run for presidential elections.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, his close friend was the eventual Democratic nominee for the 2016 general elections.
She lost to her Republican rival Donald Trump, who is now the president-elect.
