Just days after terrorists stormed Intercontinental Hotel and deadly ambulance bombing shook Kabul, the Marshal Fahim National Defense University was attacked on Monday morning, reports said, with heavy gunfire and loud explosions having been heard in the Afghan capital.
Officials have confirmed the attack at Marshal Fahim Military University in which RPGs were used. Security forces have cordoned off the area.
Defence ministry spokesman Dawlat Waziri said three attackers have been killed while one is arrested even as the fighting continues. One ANA soldier is killed while 10 are wounded.
"One bomber detonated himself and the rest of the attackers are resisting. They are under siege by our forces," said Waziri.
Basir Mujahid, a spokesman for the police chief has confirmed that 5 army soldiers have been killed and 10 others wounded in the attack on Marshal Fahim Military University in Kabul.
