North Korea leader Kim Jong Un may be planning to launch deadly missiles on the crucial election day in the United States, reports have said. Kim Jong Un may send a ‘strong message’ to President Barack Obama’s successor by launch intermediate-range ballistic missile on Tuesday, according to reports.
Reports say it seems Kim Jong Un wants to send the message to the new US President that despite international condemnation and sanctions, the hermit kingdom will not abandon its nuclear and long-range missile development programs.
Military officials in South Korea are on high alert amid the threat of a launch, according to Yonhap News Agency.
“We are closely watching every move by the North Korean military at its Punggye-ri nuclear test site and other possible missile-launching sites,” an official from Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said. “The military is fully prepared to respond to any provocative acts by the North.”
