A lawsuit has been filed against American Airlines by a Pakistani origin Muslim flight attendant in the United States. It is alleged that co-workers of the Airlines repeatedly called him a terrorist and part of Hezbollah and the Taliban.

It is also mentioned in the lawsuit filed by Farkhan Mahmood Shah, of New Jersey that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents came to his house after he complained about the harassment to company officials. The lawsuit has been filed in the Superior Court in Middlesex County.

According to NJ.com, Shah alleged that he was targeted for religious and ethnic harassment after the September 11 attacks. Shah also claimed in the lawsuit that the Airlines failed to stop the harassment after he reported it to them.

This is not the end, Shah also said that when he was on a flight, another flight attendant tried to convert his religion to Christianity.

However, spokesperson of the Airlines Matt Miller said that the company is reviewing the complaints filed by Shah in the lawsuit. “American does not tolerate discrimination of any kind,” Miller said.

Shah also reported the alleged harassment in 2008 as well when he began to notice erroneous marks on his record for being late and missing work.

When Shah and his co-workers were discussing the 9/11 attacks in 2014, one of his colleagues said “it was the Muslims and that Muslims are evil,” according to the suit.

The alleged harassment continued with Shah for another two years but his case was moved around from one human resources representative to another but with no solution, the lawsuit claimed.

The suit also stated that he filed a complaint in 2016 with US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). After two weeks, Shah claimed that FBI agents showed up at his house, asking him if he planned on hurting anyone.
