Barcelona terror attack: Seven injured in second Spain car rampage

Six civilians and one police officer were hurt when a car drove into people in the Spanish seaside resort of Cambrils early Friday, the regional government said, just hours after a similar deadly attack in nearby Barcelona.

Police shot five of the attackers dead and injured another one, saying they were "working on the hypothesis that the terrorists shot dead in Cambrils could be linked to what happened in Barcelona."

Police say 5 suspects killed in Spanish resort town were carrying bomb belts and had run over civilians with car

Earlier, a driver deliberately ploughed a van into pedestrians on one of Spain’s busiest streets on Thursday, wounding a number of people in what police said was a “terrorist attack”.

“Huge collision on Las Ramblas in Barcelona by an individual driving a van, many injuries,” a statement from Catalan police said.
The area around the incident was cordoned off, with several ambulances and police vehicles on the scene, an AFP correspondent said.
