The suicide bomber, who killed 22 people and injured 59 others at a concert of US pop star Ariana Grande in Manchester city, was identified as 22-year-old Salman Abedi, said US officials.
Abedi, who was born in Manchester, is the second youngest child of a Libyan refugee couple who came to the UK to escape the Gaddafi regime, media reports quoted US officials as saying.
The powerful homemade bomb was set off at the concert of Grande in Manchester city late last night. At least 22 people were killed and 59 others injured in the deadliest terror attack in Britain since the 2005 London bombings.
The Islamic State terror group on Tuesday claimed responsibility for the bombing and warned of more attacks.
The group said in a statement on its social media sites that "one of the caliphate's soldiers placed bombs among the crowds."
