Popular American actress Meghan Markle tied the knot with Prince Harry in a much-publicised wedding at Windsor Castle. The Suits star, who was made the Duchess of Sussex by Queen Elizabeth II on Saturday, offered a glimpse of how she saw her role on the Royal Family website.
The Remember Me actress’ official profile debuted on the website and it highlighted her keen awareness on several social issues and her commitment towards women’s empowerment.
Meghan Markle’s will have to undertake royal duties in support of The Queen, both in UK and overseas. The Duchess of Sussex will devote her time to support a number of charities and organisation.   Â
The profile on the website stated that the Duchess from a young age actively participated in charity work. The Royal Highness at the age of 11, successfully campaigned for a company to make changes to their television advertisement that had used sexist language to sell their washing-up liquid.
Meghan Markle volunteered at a soup kitchen in Skid Row, Los Angeles from the age of 13-17. She continued to volunteer at the soup kitchen till the age of 22.
These early experiences helped in shaping up her lifelong commitment to different causes like women’s empowerment and social justice, Meghan’s profile claimed.
 "I am proud to be a woman and a feminist," the page quotes Meghan Markle as saying.
A second biography page mentioned that she studied in Hollywood Little Red Schoolhouse, and Immaculate Heart High School. The now retired actress attended Northwestern University, where she earned a double major in theatre and international relations.
The page also gave a detailed account of the seven years Meghan Markle spent playing Rachel Zane in the hit American series Suits. "Whilst working on Suits, the duchess moved to Toronto, Canada where the show was filmed; she feels very connected to Canada, as it became a second home to her," the profile said.
